We make and sell adjustable GM Survey Probes. This is the same "pancake" detector/probe you've used for years in all aspects except... This detector has an adjustable length handle (you may choose both the closed length [18" - 22"] and the extended length [30" - 37"] ) and flexible angle head for easy monitoring of floors and bench tops.
Extend to monitor floor or contract to monitor bench with a "twist of the wrist". With this probe/detector your techs won't have to "lower the cable" anymore, and floors will be monitored regularly.
